Band cord and earthquake proofing

It’s 12/30, but I’m here today too.
I won’t be coming in starting tomorrow!
Now I need to get this made fast—really fast…

One of them is a “100-yen store bag” where I keep calipers and other parts removed and stored.
It’s been a hassle for ages—I was just using temporary cable ties—but today I finally

folded it back and welded it, so it can be made shorter or longer—a real gem ★
This way next year will be easier

Earthquake proofing ★
As long as the brake is on, you’re pretty much safe.

Today I welded about 30 of them ★ 100% success rate
It’s my own method, but… tips for welding band cord?
Don’t use a lighter or anything like that
• Use a hot tool like a soldering iron to heat both sides of the band cord
• Heat → just enough until the surface starts to melt; no need to overheat
• Pressing → for the first 10 seconds, you can move it slightly so both sides center up—that’s OK
• Once centered → press lightly for 1.5 to 2 minutes
(Hard to say exactly, but stronger is OK)
Once the time is up, no amount of pulling will break it ★
You can trim off the excess “ooze”—just for reference
Making 30 of them easily takes an hour, and since both hands are occupied, it gets boring
