I wanted a shorter digital depth gauge…
There aren’t many options out there,
and some sketchy ones do sell, but their measurement ranges are awkward.
When the fork protrusion gets long, it gets in the way…
So I decided to just chop up a Mitutoyo Digital Depth VDS-15DCX—
a wasteful thing to do.
Well, here goes… I really don’t want to do this.
For some reason, it won’t cut at all… The contour tool can’t get any purchase either,
so I ended up just going at it with a cutting wheel. ★
Next I thought I’d tap an M2 hole in the stopper to lock it in place, but…
Our cobalt bit can’t get any purchase at all…
For now, I’ll just tape it down.
I thought about shortening the legs too, but it looks risky, so I’ll hold off.
