Two of the linkage bolts just wouldn’t come loose no matter what…
I got a bit discouraged… In the end I extended the inner tube to 1/2 and—snap!
It took two hours just to get it off… Ugh.
Probably the first time it’s been taken apart since 1989, so I carefully checked inside
It’s actually looking pretty good
It’s brown, but there’s oil in it.
Now let’s wash and polish it
