A very primitive tool for pulling bearings around the frame
SST for pulling pivots (nowadays we use a sliding hammer instead)—a puller type like this is
smart★
If I heated up the bearing area right in front of the customer and went at it hard with a sliding hammer,
they’d think it was scary.
But there’s no other way, so it can’t be helped.
I’ve used this SST for six years, but the hardening has worn off, it bent, and it finally gave up the ghost today.
I got three out, but one’s still stuck, so we’ll have to wait for the replacement tool to arrive before shipping.
