The weekend was so busy that I decided to take it easy today and do some thinking.
I woke up in the early afternoon and headed to the shop… faxed some requests from the weekend…
I was in the mood to ride, so I took the GSF out for a leisurely cruise on the Third Keihin Road.
I was amazed at how well it was running!
I wanted to get new boots, so I headed to Nap’s! I tried on the boots I wanted to buy again on both feet to confirm the size!
Just as I was about to leave… I heard about an unexpected use for a Magical tank pad.
A customer mentioned it the other day, so I bought one right away. Around 1,800 yen—very reasonable!
You stick this on the seat! The seat becomes completely non-slip! That’s the idea!
I haven’t applied it yet, but I test-rode a bike that had it installed the other day and it was amazing! I was really impressed!!

So I headed back to the shop, ready to get started… wait? Main key on! When I turned the handlebars…
The light went out… huh?? The fuse didn’t blow… looking closely at the handlebar area…
I found a broken wire in the harness! That’s it! I connected it by hand but the light didn’t come on…
I ended up calling a tow truck!
They loaded it up at Nap’s, and I was really embarrassed.
Cause identified: broken wire around the handlebars → short circuit → constant 12V wire shorted → starter relay
fuse blew! That’s how it happened! I never knew there was a fuse in that location before.
They towed it 12 kilometers for 3,150 yen—cheap! Be sure to get a tow card!
