Anyway, the shop is open for now, but…
The phone is set to voicemail. Why?
Lately, the “ask us anything” questions have been really piling up! Some people are genuinely in trouble and asking for help and advice.
So I do my best to help within the limits of what I know.
But then there are people who call up and say things like “Hey, will this so-and-so caliper fit on such-and-such?” and talk to me in a casual tone right off the bat…
Because of people like that, the folks who are genuinely in trouble end up getting treated the same way.
When I don’t know something, I check the manual or contact the manufacturer, but sometimes I run into
unhelpful manufacturers. Since I’m asking for their help, I think it’s important to approach them with humility. That’s what I’ve been thinking lately.
And then there are people who just keep talking on and on without getting to the point. That’s really tough too…
Thirty minutes of rambling—they just keep going and going… And since I can’t follow what they’re trying to say, I have to politely decline partway through.
I wonder why they can’t just send an email?
But I guess that’s just how it is when motorcycles are such a hobby-oriented thing.
Tomorrow I think I’ll fix the RVF.
