Undeterred, we headed back to “2Rinkan”!!
This time we’re checking by changing the ignition timing on the “Watanabe”.
1. 8 degrees advanced
2. 6 degrees advanced
3. 10 degrees retarded
That’s the lineup.
The first 8 degrees sounded great and had excellent response—this is the one! It felt the best on the test ride too.
The others we checked for testing purposes.
Results
1. 131.4 hp
2. 130.6 hp
3. 103.8 hp
As expected, retarded timing is for tuned engines as stated, and the power drops completely!
The sound was heavy and the throttle response was sluggish.
Anyway, we’ve hit the 130 hp range, so we should be good to go to TMR now~
