Have you ever adjusted valve clearance? I don’t think the judgment should be based on whether the sound is loud or quiet.
I really think you need to open the cover and visually confirm it.
Valve clearance doesn’t just get wider—it can also get narrower, you know.
Ideally, you’d want to check it once when the engine has broken in. ♪
After an engine OH, it’s so important that you must check it between 500 and 1,000 km.
At the same time, cam chain adjustment…
It’s automatic, so it’s fine—sure, it’s automatic, but it won’t tighten unless it gets pretty slack.
Since it’s only spring tension, the reality is you can’t push it that hard.
When it’s slack, it really hangs there loosely. And then there’s that indescribable engine noise…
And once you’ve got the valve clearance dialed in perfectly, I want to sync the carburetor. ♪ After you’ve nailed the valve clearance,
when you sync it, the engine really settles down. Smooth. ♪
Finally, the engine damper wears quite a bit—that just shows how much the engine is vibrating. ♪
This really brings it back to life. Now then,
we occasionally get inquiries: “Is the oil Nuutec?”
We use only Nuutec, so we can’t get other brands—sorry about that!
So, no oil change, 32,000 yen flat-rate! How’s that!
Valve clearance adjustment & cam chain adjustment, carburetor sync & PS adjustment, engine damper replacement & sus bolt
replacement.
What do you think of that?
Let’s get everything properly serviced as we head into spring.
