Tokyo the Toy

I live in Tokyo, but there are still so many things I don’t know about. Really…
I guess it’s because I tend to dive into whatever catches my interest.
Well…
They say Obon, year-end, and New Year are the times to take it easy.
But actually getting a solid break during Obon might be the first time for me.
Though it’s only Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday…
I had work scheduled for Saturday, but it got moved to Sunday, so I suddenly have an extra day off.
Four days a week… hmm, that’s nice. I can really relax.
Today I worked until 3 and called it quits. It’s so hot I’m thinking maybe I’ll hit up the pool.
I haven’t been in a pool in years, so I was a bit nervous, and honestly I quit after just an hour.
No point pushing myself and getting worn out.
My breathing didn’t last long, and I clearly wasn’t taking in enough air when I breathed.
I got more used to it in the second half, but I felt pathetically old… I’ll have to exercise regularly.
I’m grateful they stay open until 10 p.m. this time of year.
I barely drink. I don’t dislike it, but after getting completely wasted at a year-end party ages ago, I felt so bad about myself that
I stopped drinking. Though if I’m invited…
Tonight I’m having some sweet potato shochu I got the other day ★ might as well have a drink~
I like the pungent ones ★ and the ones that really kick!
Awamori is nice too. When you drink it, that hot vapor that rises up—”guhaa~”—it’s the best.
I was sleeping on a folding bed on the balcony and got bitten by mosquitoes. The worst…
So itchy!
