The support we machined the other day has come back finished.
It’s looking great with hard anodizing applied.
Since the fork bottom case is a machined part with flat surfaces on both front and back, and making the support with an offset would be tedious,
I went with external mounting instead.
I installed a helicoil in the bottom case so it can be fixed securely.
The M10 helicoil insertion tool was acting up, and I couldn’t get the last one in, but it’s finally complete today.
Installation is done and the caliper center is aligned, so I took it out for a test ride right away.
The brake no longer judders and shakes when I apply it.
So that’s how it was—the caliper was flexing because it was so thin, and that was dangerous.
The front brake is working better now, and I couldn’t be happier.
