Motorcycles are machines, and wear patterns vary completely depending on mileage and how they’re treated.
Ten thousand kilometers in a year versus ten thousand kilometers in three months results in different wear patterns.
It also depends on how the bike is handled and how often maintenance is performed.
So about rocker arm wear:
The contact surface has a gentle radius.
This can wear down as shown in the photo.
The noise won’t go away even if you adjust the valve clearance, so when you’re doing valve maintenance, it’s a good idea to also check the cam and rocker arm contact area.
