We’ll disassemble and clean the rear section.
The linkage area is relatively clean, which is a huge help.
Rear maintenance is an inspection that doubles as a check of the linkage and swingarm area.
If the condition is serviceable, we’ll reassemble it. We consider anything that comes clean with polishing to be OK.
It’s a visual inspection that leads into the later overhaul.
The grease applied to the original bearings is a pretty high-viscosity type.
We’ll work in some Newtech MP grease here too.
Of course, we’ll wash out the old grease first.
The linkage area will have excellent operation too ★
While we’re at it, applying chain oil to the chain slider makes it roll better.
The rear shock is Nitron!
