Now for the front maintenance.
Mileage is 16,340 km.
It’s a relatively low-mileage bike.
The steering bearings we removed are in good condition.
I notice there’s a bit more grease in there than before ★
We swap in our usual retainer ball.
We also apply grease to the upper and lower seal lip areas to keep things smooth.
While we’re working on the stem area, draining the fork oil ahead of time boosts work efficiency.
We fill the fork oil with ASH ★
The front fork inner tube has a tight fit on the front side, so we check the fit and
rotate it as we assemble it, which helps the inner tube last longer and
may also reduce wear on the bottom case a bit.
As the mileage adds up, accumulated play becomes rattle-rattle-rattle, you know.
