Honda has dramatically fewer Decoboco issues.
This CBR1100XX is heading to Kyushu for a tour, so it’s time for maintenance.
The bike has about 27,000 kilometers on it.
Since we don’t have all the parts, we’ll do what we can.
Lever assembly ★
Remove, clean, grease up, check the lever operation, and tighten—all good.
Pedal assembly ★
The shift side is direct-mounted, so we’ll skip it.
The brake pedal area is pretty dirty too.
Clean up the pedal shaft and the master cylinder connection point, then oil them.
Smooth and slick! ♪
Throttle cable & throttle sleeve □
Since we can’t remove it without the handlebar, we took the whole bar off and pulled it out. ★
Clean it up and apply a thin, even coat of oil to the inside of the sleeve and the handlebar.
Oil the cable too, and we’re done.
Side stand ★
It feels amazing if you occasionally remove it, wash it, and apply a thin coat of grease.
Oiling the spring above and below helps a bit too.
