The black Ghibli (GHIBLI) that arrived quite a while ago
I think it’s probably from around 1997–98?
The cassette is also Campagnolo freehub with splines—8-tooth, same as the current standard
But the lockring thread diameter is different (smaller)
It’s noticeably smaller than the current thread outer diameter…
I was stuck, so I searched for and bought lockriings from various auctions, but they were all the same and wouldn’t fit…
Why not just swap out the freehub! I thought, and casually bought a new one
When I took it apart… the shape was different again ★ It won’t fit…
I could just re-thread the lockring hole to make it fit ★
When stuck, I completely hand it off to K from T Gashi Engineering.
After putting him through quite a bit of trouble! It was done by noon the next day ★
I watched the machining process to some extent, but…
To cut the internal threads for the inch thread, he first made a dummy, inserted it to check fit, and checked the wall thickness before threading
He made a jig to secure the freehub to the lathe, and before and after that, he worked out how much the cassette should protrude, and so on…
It was really work that didn’t match the price at all, and I felt truly sorry ■ I was really grateful for the help
Thanks to that, the wheel was installed safely and I was able to ride it ♪
