Well, we’ve mostly wrapped up inspections and such (though there are still some this month, so please bear with us)…
Now we’re shifting our focus to the troublesome compressor situation.
With work piling up, this is really a headache…
The motor has indeed given up the ghost, so I gave Ito-san a worried call.
“I’m not sure if the shaft diameter will match, but we do have one.”
Off we went in the Sunny Truck.
The factory has this indescribable mysterious aura about it.
The contour machine and drill press have a bit of wear…
Now for the main issue—the shaft diameter…
When we removed the pulley, the diameter was different… The broken one was thicker.
The replacement one was thinner.
Since we can make an adapter sleeve, I thought, “This is a job for Nageyou Dot Com,” and
I was thinking of throwing it Aiyama-san’s way, but “Man, I’m swamped with work right now.”
Feeling bad about it, I grabbed an unmarked round bar and figured I’d machine it tomorrow.
The keyway is going to be a pain…
