GSF1200S Oil-Cooled Maintenance

So

I do check the oil level with a gauge, just to be sure,
but this BST carburetor has the float fixed with an O-ring, so it’s pretty loose★
On a bike with no issues, I only check the oil level up to here.

But when there’s a problem, I check and adjust by the actual oil level★
Don’t ask me if this kind of fixing is really okay.
I don’t have time to make a proper fixture!!
Sure enough, the oil level is disappointingly all wrong★, so I spend over an hour fiddling with adjustments from here.

Setting the manufacturer’s spec is tough★
0.5 to 0.25 mm? But this gauge only has 1 mm divisions★
I think getting it close to the fourth mark is good enough.
I don’t chase it too hard,
but look → drain → adjust → reassemble → look → drain → adjust → reassemble
I get terribly dizzy from the gasoline fumes.

Well, all that effort paid off—it’s running great now★

I put the stand up, spun the wheel by hand, and wiped the chain, and then I heard “clunk clunk”
When the drive sprocket gets loose, it goes “clunk clunk,” so you gotta check★
I won’t mention it every time, but it’s surprisingly common~
Tomorrow I’ll take it for a test ride and we’re done!!
