Well, it’s been about half a year since we took it in.
A bike I’m not quite familiar with keeps getting pushed to the back.
First of all, there’s no manual, no parts list.
There are things I’ve never worked on before, so I don’t understand the structure.
Special tools are needed and all that.
There’s a trick to removing things, steps to adjustments.
Before I even start, I’m thinking the worst, always the worst.
Once I get to it, it’s a day’s work, or really half a day…
It was good that I could borrow a manual.
While pushing down the top of the cam chain tensioner,
pull it, insert the pin, and lock it in.
I was at it for an hour…
The new one needs to be prepped before assembly,
prepped,
and the engine oil changed too.
They asked me to check the oil pump, so I took it out…
The cover wouldn’t come off, and I wrestled with it for about an hour.
I’m amazed at whoever designed this pump.
The strainer is clean. ★
Really, way too many unnecessary things keep happening…
Seized parts, mud everywhere, stripped threads, cracks…
Both sides, inside and out, I welded them up…
By the way, the exhaust pipe came in too, but the ground doesn’t reach, so that’s for next time.
The engine got super quiet! ★
Well, that’s only natural, I guess.
