Before heading home, I picked up the “Nikon 8mm f/2.8 Fisheye-NIKKOR”
It’s a really fun fisheye lens with a world view that can’t help but distort.
When you mount the Nikon 8mm f/2.8 Fisheye-NIKKOR, the D800 is barely visible from the front because the lens has such a large diameter
On full-frame it vignettes like crazy. That’s what makes it fun★ Since it’s f/2.8, it might be good for shooting the night sky too.
A Canon “EF8-15mm F4L Fisheye USM Nikon-modified” would be perfect if it could stop down, but Canon’s version has an electronic aperture with that function disabled, so it’s stuck at f/4, which is a shame.
After using it, this Nikon 8mm is just too big and too heavy. But it sure looks cool~
