The customer requested carburettor maintenance along with the motorcycle inspection.

The ZRX1100 is a lightweight classic bike. It looks current because of the Daeg, but it’s already nearly 20 years old. A hose had broken, which is what brought it in for this service.

I removed it as a single unit so I could inspect it thoroughly.

It’s in relatively clean condition, which is reassuring.

I wonder if all CVKs get this kind of rough texture inside…

There’s minimal rust, and the condition is excellent.

The float valve is still going strong at 54,000 kilometers.

I should clean all the parts with industrial cotton swabs. There’s quite a bit of buildup.

I polished the exterior as a test sample.

Once I synchronized it, it felt fantastic.

It feels like a brand-new carburettor now, and I’m happy about that too.
