Bandit 1200 inspection, headlight relay installation, hazard switch, oil change, pad replacement, and more.
When it comes to headlight relays, Daytona is the name. Low price, relay mounted on the battery side, and they really understand the installer’s needs.
We fabricate a bracket to mount the relay. I often see electrical components and relays secured with cable ties, but it’s always a bit sad when you remove the fairings.
It’s a fail-proof two-piece design.
We put ribs in place so it won’t bend easily. Safe design.
We don’t want to tighten plastic parts with metal. We secure it with push rivets.
The Bandit 1200 really has nowhere to mount it. We ended up fitting it inside the right side cover.
Next we performed an oil change.
The customer mentioned a vibration noise from the screen, so we checked it. It’s quite a simple mounting system for this screen.
Two points at the bottom, then it just hooks and pinches. With this method there’s too much play, so it might be a bit tricky.
We cut a thin piece of 14 mm diameter hose and fitted it. We hope it reduces the noise.
We relocated the hazard switch to the left handlebar. We’ll continue with the rest another day.
