We had a request for tire, Newtech oil, and pad replacement.
We stripped the tires down. Cleaning the inside and applying light rust prevention keeps the wheels looking great and lasting longer.
Cleaning the inside of the inner tube and other areas like this and applying rust prevention really helps them last much longer.
The inside was in good condition with no rust.
Keep the inside of the fender clean too.
There’s some mud buildup, but the operation and piston condition are both in good shape.
Don’t run pads all the way down. The disk can wear unevenly, the piston extends too much, and it can seize up and cause uneven contact.
Even if there’s still material left, if several years have passed, fresh pads will give you much better bite.

It takes time, but we dig it out. Quite a bit of debris comes out.
The disk has dirt on it that you can’t see just by looking.
Always clean the disk when replacing pads.
We replaced the oil and filter.
While the oil is draining, wiping down the chain and frame sets you up for better maintenance down the road.
After a test ride, we’re done.
