I thought I’d clean the fork, but it looks like the owner is already doing a pretty thorough job maintaining various parts themselves—looks like there won’t be much for us to do.
The caliper is clean too. The piston and its operation are both in good shape.
A light polish and it feels great.
After washing, we apply rust preventative oil and wipe it down. Doing this should keep even aluminum lasting a long time.
We’ll wash the rear as well. It’s clean too.
We polish it the same way and wipe it down with rust preventative oil—it looks great now.
Now we’ll clean the brake discs.
They’re incredibly clean—we really appreciate that the owner is already maintaining them.
We’ve replaced the brake fluid.
We oil the lever and we’re done.
• Caliper cleaning 2 points × 3 = 6 points
• Disc cleaning 1 point × 3 = 3 points
• Brake fluid replacement 2 points × 4 = 8 points
• Fork oiling and cleaning 1 point
• Brake lever oiling 2 points × 2 = 4 points
Total comes to 22 points.
