The CB1300SF is extremely rare at our shop.
Coolant is something you want to replace once every two years. Since it heats up to nearly 100 degrees every time you ride and then cools down repeatedly, it does degrade.
If you don’t replace it for many years, corrosion will progress.
I replaced the radiator cap with an NTK unit.
Both sides have severe rust. I polished them with compound and applied rust preventative. Keep applying rust preventative regularly, okay?
Since it hasn’t been ridden much, there were spider webs.
The caliper bolts are rusty too. I have a bad feeling about removing them, so I’m just applying rust preventative for now.
I replaced all the fluid. You’ll want to do fluid work at every inspection.
I changed the engine oil to Newtech NC50 and replaced the filter.
The fuel tends to go bad, so I added Fuel One as a precaution.
All done.
