Inspection, self-point maintenance, and oil change all requested.
Lately the mileage hasn’t been climbing much, but it’s good to stay on top of maintenance anyway.
The deposits are mild and the piston action feels good.
The spring plate and such were polished and restored to a nice finish.
The chain—inside, outside, and sprockets—was cleaned thoroughly within the limits of what we can polish. While rotating it, I feel it with my hands: “Is there any chain rattle?” “Any grinding?” It’s a tactile inspection.
The spark plug burn wasn’t ideal. I went ahead and replaced the plug.
Air filter replacement time. Of course mileage matters, but I think it’s good to replace it by age too.
Fluid was swapped to Golden Cruiser DOT4.
The forks got cleaned and oiled with a little prayer: “No rust, please” and “Keep moving smoothly.”
Three brake discs. They get pretty dirty. A little cleaning now and then does wonders.
I added Fuel 1 to the tank. When gas runs too low it won’t go in, which causes headaches. Then I cleaned around the frame and oiled any spots accessible from the outside.
Engine oil used was ELF MOTO4RACE 10W-60.
That wraps up the work. Running great.
