It’s the kind of thing where you push IN and turn ON.
Continuing on!

It was pretty dirty, actually. This might be just right.
Oil level check before disassembly. Slowly pull out the spring, then check with a ruler.

No runout issues on the inner race, left or right.

The cylinder rod threads are always smooth going IN! We’ve prepared everything so it works smoothly, replaced the bolts too, and now we’re thinking “no more failures!” Everything’s ready.

The clips are new, but they rust easily, so we coat them with rust preventative oil. (This rust preventative oil does dry.)

We polish the cap to clean it up a bit.

Skipping ahead on the details. After that, we work the stroke back and forth, pull a vacuum, adjust the oil level, and we’re done.

Hoping it moves smoothly… we might have gained about 1% here.

Going from SY to SR, the brake hose position got messed up. Brembo can swap the nipple position. We changed it, but it’s still long, so feel free to replace the hose down the road!

A little talk about possibly improving the feel. If you stagger the slit grooves instead of lining them up, the feel during rotation and braking might improve a bit.
When they’re lined up, it’s a strong “shoo-shoo-shoo,” but when staggered, it’s a softer “shush-shush-shush-shush” feel. It doesn’t change drastically, but doing it might be a plus. (We went ahead and staggered them.)

The famous Newtech Matsu (NC41 10W-50)

We went ahead and changed it. Now we’re on hold waiting for the caliper bolts.
Should be done today.
