Inspection, carburetor synchronization, Newtech oil change, and other work requested.

We applied yellow film to give it that period-correct look.
This film has excellent clarity and applies beautifully. Maybe I should sell it…

The front screen polishes up to a shine with our secret compound.

Work we should have checked last time: the stand was hitting the fairing, so we made adjustments.
*Fitting before painting is extremely important. Post-paint finishing is tough, and pulling during installation can lead to cracks later.

We made a small patch with shearing, tack-welded it, and finished with paint.
When you don’t have to worry about fine adjustments, it feels a lot easier mentally.

Mystery air leaks—about six spots on each side.

Since we replace them here, they’re not that dirty…
The leaking spots had a feathery corrosion pattern. Did tire wax residue cause the corrosion? This is a first for me.

We polished the tire side carefully and sealed it up perfectly.

Synchronization check: the carburetors had drifted quite a bit.

We changed the oil to Newtech NC50 10W-50.

The early model uses a super rare filter, so we swapped in a union adapter so it can use the current filter. It’ll be convenient to source anywhere.
Sorry for the late report!
