Physical books and magazines do have their downsides—they take up storage space, they’re heavy, and you can’t instantly find the page you want.
But here’s the thing: when you flip through unrelated pages, you sometimes get a “whoa!” moment
and suddenly become interested in something you weren’t expecting.
I went looking for information on Z reinforcement, but then I’d think “BIMOTA is so cool!” or “Oh, they sell parts like this?”
You end up getting interested in things you never anticipated, and honestly, that’s pretty great.
I think books and magazines will eventually disappear, but somehow I have a feeling that hobby magazines in particular are going to become incredibly valuable in the future. What do you think?
There are still tons of photos and articles out there that haven’t made it onto the internet—and they could become all sorts of future inspiration.
New trends often come from respecting the past, so I think it’s worth keeping those old magazines around.

Looking back on it now,
private sales back then were amazing—people actually listed their full addresses, names, and phone numbers, didn’t they?
Back then, I’d send telegrams to buy parts faster than anyone else. It was incredibly quick, honestly.
Before Yahoo Auctions, parts were reasonably priced and negotiable… those were the days.
