・Validity period of vehicle inspection certificate extended until June 1, 2020.
Following the issuance of a state of emergency declaration under the Special Measures Law for Measures Against Novel Influenza and Other Infectious Diseases, in order to prevent explosive spread of infection in the designated areas and eliminate the risk of infection spread through outings, we are applying the provisions of Article 61-2 of the Road Transport Vehicle Act to extend the validity period of vehicle inspection certificates. We are hereby notifying you that this was announced today.
○Target vehicles
Vehicles with their principal place of use in the designated areas whose vehicle inspection certificates expire between April 8 and May 31
(※This includes vehicles whose inspection certificates were set to expire between February 28 and March 31, 2020, which were extended to April 30, 2020 by the Transport Bureau Director’s announcement dated February 28, 2020.)
○Measures
Vehicle inspection certificate validity period extended until June 1
○Renewal inspection procedures
Target vehicles may continue to be used if they undergo a renewal inspection by June 1.
Note that no procedures are required to update the vehicle inspection certificate due to the extension of the validity period.
○Motor vehicle liability insurance (mutual aid) procedures (special measures for contract procedures)
For insurance contracts whose coverage period ends before the renewal inspection is completed, the procedures for concluding a renewal contract are deferred up to June 1.
