It’s so convenient I wish I’d known about it sooner—
I’m introducing the items I used to build it.
GORDON MILLER Pail Can Stool 27L
Height is 470 mm—a difference from the standard 20L pail can.
Since it comes with a cushion, you can use it as a chair too.
The included lid has no gasket and different rim height, so standard bands won’t work—watch out.
Hose connection—inner diameter 50φ, about 46φ with adapter (a bit rough).
It looks like PP or PE material, so it should be pretty resistant to cracking.
*I made two 50φ-to-35φ adapters from Delrin for a clean connection.

Hose insertion outer diameter 35φ (both ends).
I standardized on 35φ because my Kärcher vacuum is also 35φ.

This lid was the one that made me most nervous.
I was worried it might not work until it arrived…
But it worked fine as-is.
So what’s the actual benefit?
• The vacuum stays super clean because debris doesn’t accumulate in it
• Dramatically less hassle emptying trash and cleaning the inside
• You can set the vacuum in place and leave it running (I do this)—the storage location moves off the floor
• Since it can handle water too, it’s great for draining and removing standing water—maybe even handy for aquarium cleaning
• When not in use, you can use it as a chair
The possibilities are endless.
You see a lot of people building these as DIY projects on YouTube and such.
