It’s an L model. Of the GSX-R750. Pretty niche stuff, really.
I’ve never seen an M model before.
First, the customer wants to upgrade the rear disk to 220mm, so let’s look at the parts they brought in and figure this out.

The front fork is from a GSX-R750SPR…
Do you know about that? Everyone? Super niche, right?

Here it is.
I’m guessing the R doesn’t stand for Racing but rather a sequence number, you know?

This one… is in pretty rough condition, honestly.
The GSF1200 220mm upgrade from the other day has more material, so it’s actually more reassuring in various ways.
Let’s use this lightweight rear caliper support.

First, we heat it in the oven and press out the bushings. It’s tedious to get them off flush.

When parts are dirty, your mood suffers, so we did a full wet blast polish from bare metal.

Wrapping the wheel with a cover prevents scratches—pretty effective, right? (‘ω’)
When we removed the wheel, we gave it a quick no-touch cleaning.

We made two press-fit collars.
I need to do something about the lathe’s internal boring tool…
The old one is too thin and hard to clamp. (;∀;)

I wish I’d pushed the outer snap ring a bit more…
But it came out like this with no shims. (‘ω’)ノ

We finished it in black with gun coat. (‘ω’)ノ
The axle runout checked out fine.

By the way, this one has been upgraded to a rigid torque rod, so please note. *Don’t use this caliper as-is on a GSX-R.
To be continued.
