Here’s the beloved Inazuma 1200 Katana (GSX1200S) that everyone loves (‘ω’)ノ
This time it’s quite voluminous, so I’ll move through it quickly.

It’s quite dirty ( ;∀;)
I suspect it’s not an oil management issue but rather “oil temperature running too high,” so please be careful too.

It was carbonized buildup that wouldn’t come off even with scrubbing.
Once it’s like that, there’s nothing we can do about it.

When they’re stuck like this, don’t “pull,”insteaduse “light tapping”to remove them.
Before you end up in “pain,”please be careful.

I can only replace the front one, but I’ll go ahead and replace the cam chain slider.

The cam chain slider was“hardened with cracks”in it.
Inside there’s“metal sandwiched”so it won’t break, but there’s still a possibility it could shatter.

The oil-cooled cam chain tensioner is compact and efficient.
Looking at the stock tensioners on Katanas and Zs,“they’re big and have complicated mechanisms,”and you really feel the passage of time.
This tensioner is“automatic,”but it won’t tension unless“it’s quite slack.”It’s good to adjust it while
“hand cranking”and consulting with“the current condition of the cam chain.”
Of course,“cam chains don’t stretch uniformly all around.”It’s good to work on it while
“keeping in mind the deterioration of the chain and slider.”

The structure is very simple. It’s one of those “what you see is what you get” things (*’▽’)

There’s nothing particularly noteworthy, so I’ll skip the middle part.
Well, the cleaning was more of a hassle, I’d say (*’▽’)

Oh wow, this brings back memories…
This is the“paint finish”from before we got our wet blaster…(*´з`)
For now, I’ve replaced the cam and set the valve timing to Yoshimura’s specified values.
To be continued!
(*´з`)Items featured this time(*´з`)
Cams become“hard to get when stock runs out,”often taking around six months. Oil-cooled cams are
“still affordable,”so“getting your hands on one at this price”is the best move.
