Z2 750RS Inspection and Various Things (´ー`)

Boom! (sound effect)
I’m just replacing consumable parts, but it’s taking quite a bit of time

Is it just that my work is slow?
Since I’ve been making you wait so long, I’ll just push forward without worrying~

Today let’s start by overhauling the brake master

Let me check the master piston.
16φ, I see…

The return port is extremely fine at 0.4φ.
Be careful with fluid changes and foreign objects~

Honda 43523-MAH-671 Master Float
This suppresses the squeaking!

Please definitely use it~

I’ll replace the wheel bearings.
I’ll punch them out with my usual favorite Straight tool.

For those who want something more affordable and smaller, here’s this!
Toolsisland Pilot Bearing Puller Set
F1 Internal Hook Compatible 8~25mm

If 15/17/20/25 are your main sizes, this is plenty~

They’re all used in an open style like the original.
I don’t like grease flying everywhere, so I’ve switched to double-sealed.

I prefer the non-contact type.
A certain someone who hates grease flying everywhere prefers the contact type.

I don’t think this really changes performance much either way.

The bearing fit on the drum side is slightly loose.
Before the play gets worse, I’ll use a tiny bit of retaining compound.
It’s so strong that just a touch is enough.

If you leave it, the play will keep increasing.
LOCTITE 638 Retaining

The hub bearings look fine.
The oil seal friction is also just right.

Some Suzuki models wear the metal so much
that it grips too hard, so checking is important.

Next I’ll replace the rear tire.

For the spokes, I’ll check the heavy spots just in case.

Pre-insert the tube into the tire!

The work becomes super quick and eliminates
the risk of twisting or pinching the tube in the tire.

Give it a try~you’ll be amazed.

I used spoke-clamping style balance weights.

The rear shoes also need replacement.
They were wearing down gradually, so the timing is perfect.

Oh! How do you remove drum shoes again?
I was a bit puzzled.
It’s totally different from scooters…

Sliding the cam out in parallel was easiest.

I cleaned the inside of the panel with wet blasting (water only) at high pressure.

Quickly assembled and done.
Clean parts really feel good, don’t they?

I also replaced the hub damper.
Kawasaki hub dampers are pretty loose to begin with…

Suzuki is really good in that regard.

The axle shaft runout looks fine too.

DID ZVM-X2!
Finally here! So I’ll use this one (*´ω`*)

At first glance you can’t tell the difference, but it’s super shiny☆ and
the chain moves so smoothly.

Daido is the best! Probably

Let me clean the chain case too~

That completes the suspension consumables replacement.
To be continued (*´ω`*)

( *´艸`)Hehe, August is almost over.

If you only use sizes around 15/17/20/25MM, this is plenty
