“Explosive Cooling” Town Ace Truck KM70 Air Conditioner Gas Was Completely Empty… Newtech NC-200 Also Added.

The intense heat continues day after day. When I occasionally eat Korean food, the spiciness surprises me in a delicious way.

So our Town Ace truck has had the air conditioner running for quite some time, but it doesn’t cool well.
I basically don’t use air conditioning with such a nonsensical policy, I’ve been enduring it but????
Finally I couldn’t take it anymore.

For now, I’ll check YouTube and verify the air conditioner gas level and add compressor oil.
It got incredibly cold and I was a bit shocked.

I’ve been driving it for over a decade but have never refilled the air conditioner gas

In the first place, saying I dislike air conditioning I’ve never even checked the refill.
When I occasionally try to turn it on it’s just a little cold, maybe I feel some breeze even at maximum it barely blows.

With this intense heat riding in a truck where the air conditioning doesn’t work is tough .
I’ve been wearing a cooling vest while driving, but I think that’s fundamentally wrong.

I finally got motivated to try refilling the air conditioner gas.

I quickly gathered the tools on Amazon

First, I want to add gas and compressor oil and check if there’s any change from the simple approach.
If there’s no change, it might need fundamental repairs.

Since summer break started, it took about 2 days for delivery.
If you need various things by August holidays, it’s best to arrange them as early as possible.

Even though there are various types of Town Ace, searching didn’t bring up much.
Maybe the same model as mine has become rare.

You can access the air conditioner valve easily by looking in from the front.
The workability is really good.

There are HI and LO sides,
and you connect to the LO side to fill.

The work itself isn’t complicated. Just be careful with the click lock

I apologize for not being able to photograph it well due to positioning.
Remove the plastic cap on the LO side and push the quick lock of the fill hose all the way back firmly.
Click! You’ll feel the insertion, so it’s easy to tell. That’s how it goes.

Connect, bleed air, release can, start engine, turn on cooling to maximum

The gauge didn’t move at all. Was there really nothing in there?….
No wonder it didn’t cool at all…

The gas can gets cold and the gauge quickly moves to the blue side.
Since the can itself gets cold and the flow slows down, warming it with your hand while shaking helps it flow better.
Shake shake until the can becomes light.

Newtech NC 200 Compressor Oil Additive

I’ll also add oil so the compressor operates smoothly.
It’s been a while since Newtech. I added the well-reviewed NC200.

Start the engine and turn the air conditioning to maximum and shake shake until the can becomes light.

Explosive cooling! At maximum it’s so cold your hand hurts

Of course it’s this cold since there was no gas in it at all.
Honestly I didn’t expect it to get this cold, I’m amazed .

If it stops cooling again soon, I should investigate other reasons.
If it’s in an easy location to work on, it might be worth trying.
I’m really relieved.
