Air-conditioned jackets are something I only use during this scorching hot season, but they’ve become a very important part of my life.
I was being cheap and operating with just one battery,
but with that setup, it gets a bit tight and I’m a little worried it might cut out. That’s how hot it’s been lately.
I was thinking of buying the same model, but apparently the latest version has a maximum output of 22V and the battery capacity has also been upgraded.
The price is also a bit cheaper than the old model, so I went with this one.

To get to the point: “I couldn’t tell the difference between 19V and 22V by feel.”
I turned on the battery power, made the settings, and alternately swapped the plugs to feel the difference.
I can somewhat tell the difference at the lower voltage levels, but I can’t really tell the difference between 19V and 22V even with my eyes closed.
I’m sure the airflow is actually higher, but it felt about the same to me.
Since the 19V already produces plenty of airflow and I’m satisfied with it, there’s no problem.
Appearance-wise, barely any change; heavier weight, slightly thicker material
It’s gotten a bit bulkier and feels about 60g heavier.
But if that extra 60g means better battery life, I’m very grateful for it.
The battery comes in about 3 color options,
but I chose black since it was the most reasonably priced.
The voltage output numbers have also been increased.
The biggest difference I felt was between 13V and 15V.
But honestly, even if someone secretly swapped the batteries, I probably wouldn’t notice—that’s the level of difference.
The fact that the lower voltages below max have been raised is very nice.
Burtle fans and batteries have high compatibility
The Burtle air-conditioned jacket’s fans and batteries have surprisingly high compatibility and seem to work with most air-conditioned jackets.
Basically, if you get a reliable fan and battery, you can use them with most air-conditioned jackets.
I can’t speak too broadly since I haven’t checked recent air-conditioned jacket fans and batteries,
but since you sweat and get them dirty, ease of attachment and detachment is important.
Burtle excels in the ease of attaching and detaching the fan and cord, as well as the excellent locking mechanism to prevent the cord from coming loose.
They also have an innovative design that allows you to wash the fan directly without disassembling it.
This might be why Burtle has been loved by field workers for so long.
If you’re unsure, choosing Burtle over an unfamiliar brand is the safe bet.
