Yeah, major disasters these days are no joke, right? I keep thinking “let’s prepare, let’s prepare” every year, but just preparing doesn’t mean you can actually use it when needed—that’s the real problem.
I’ve been too busy thinking about so many things throughout the year to spend time on such worries, but I’m starting to feel like I can’t keep saying that anymore. What do you all think?
I haven’t purchased one yet either, but if I were to buy, the “Eco Flow DELTA 2” is what I’m now confident about. When I looked into it, it seems it won’t be available until around October —everyone’s thinking the same thing.
What matters is “lightness, capacity, charging speed, and price”
As of August 2024, I compared six types of portable battery power sources.
As capacity increases, weight increases too —that’s how it goes. Even the lightest at 12 kg is still quite heavy. At 22 kg, you really don’t want to move it around.
In that case, buying two Delta 2s would be more convenient in my opinion. You need to divide capacity by charging time, but fast charging support is really appreciated isn’t it? Regarding fast charging, in a disaster situation, you could charge it with solar or carry the power station to a place where you can charge it.
In such cases, fast charging and light weight are advantages that matter. It’s kind of like organizing luggage— it’s better to organize things into medium-sized boxes rather than putting everything in one large box, and that’s how I think about it.
After all, “cycle lifespan is super important”—you want to use it for a long time, right?
The Delta 2 and Delta Pro use lithium iron phosphate batteries and have dramatically longer lifespans. With this kind of longevity, you can use it daily without worry in normal operation. Even if a disaster doesn’t come, if you can use it in your daily life, that’s the best value for money, right?
You can safely use most household appliances. It supports various types of charging too
For now, if I had to choose from what’s available as of August 2024, the Delta 2 has an extremely good balance . Don’t buy it yet! The latest model is coming out, so
it’s lightweight, has sufficient capacity, fast charging, and an affordable price —that’s the thing. If the capacity isn’t enough, you can just buy another one. I don’t think you’d ever want to use high-wattage appliances in a disaster situation anyway.
If it’s light, you can carry it to where the power is available to charge it, or move it around without strain. The price is also realistic, so even if you end up not using it much, you can accept it as a precaution.
However, on September 1st, 2024, the DELTA 3 Plus will be released. This is just my wild guess, but the DELTA 3 Plus might be the strongest? So that one seems like it might be better.
