Now, the sweeper wheel tool I acquired the other day to make the power brush attachment more comfortable really does dramatically improve usability when installed,
but
it still falls short of what we need.
The included wheel is so terrible that it won’t rotate unless you loosen the mounting, and it wobbles all over the place—not a problem for actual use, but it bothers me.
I want to improve this using made-in-Japan parts.
I want to improve the wheel mounting and adjustment method
It’s a bit hard to see in the image, but structurally it’s
“bolt – wheel – nut – hole on the body side – lock nut”.
The wheel has what looks like bearings on both ends, but there’s no distance collar.
In other words, when you tighten it, it stops rotating.
Whether it’s loose or over-tightened, neither is good.
Every time I adjust the wheel position, I don’t want to deal with such tedious adjustments.
To make matters worse, everything is in inches, so I want to build the parts using slightly smaller M12.
I got all the parts from Misumi this time
Just gathering these parts costs around 5,000 yen.
It makes you think about how reasonably priced the products sold on Amazon are.
For now, this is version 1, so I’ll proceed cautiously.
It has a proper dust cover and the bearing is fully seated.
Even when tightened firmly, the dust cover spins smoothly, which feels really nice.

Since there’s not that much load, I think it should be fine.
Even with this setup, detaching is still tedious, so I want to think of a better method.
