For a clean bike that has been carefully stored and hasn’t covered much distance in the past two years,excessive full-strip maintenance is a mismatch both in cost and effort.
Because it hasn’t been ridden,“reliably refresh degraded oils and lubricants, replace dried-out grease in moving parts, and carefully verify that each component is still alive for the next two years.” We’ve put together a new basic package with only the work that truly matters.

Confirm required documents
Digitized vehicle inspection certificates do not show the expiration date; it is recorded in the IC tag. The IC tag information can be checked on a smartphone or a PC with an IC card reader connected.
You can also confirm the expiration date on the “Vehicle Inspection Certificate Record” issued at the same time as the vehicle inspection certificate.
The inspection sticker on the license plate shows the month the inspection expires.

- Name change and ownership release (when user and owner differ due to financing, etc.) (Sodegaura number: ¥8,000 Other areas: ¥15,000)
- Structural change (dimensions, weight, capacity, etc.) (Sodegaura number: ¥8,000 Other areas: ¥15,000)
- Modification registration (engine model change, power transmission change, etc.) (Sodegaura number: ¥40,000 Other areas: ¥50,000)
Important notes
- Be sure to provide the model number listed on your inspection certificate when requesting
- Have all required documents ready on your booking date If anything is missing, we charge ¥6,000 (as compensation for the time to revisit the inspection office)
- If you have lost your liability insurance certificate, you will need to have your insurance company reissue it
- Right after paying the light vehicle tax (4–10 business days after payment), right after moving to another municipality, right after purchasing a used vehicle, or when the target vehicle has past unpaid amounts, payment confirmation may not be possible, so please have a paper tax payment certificate ready. We especially recommend paying at a convenience store or bank for vehicles inspected in June.
- If additional maintenance is needed to pass inspection, maintenance charges and parts costs will be added
- Normally, inspection can be done starting two months before the expiration date
- Vehicles with non-compliant parts modifications require separate consultation
- Vehicles with the tandem seat removed will need the tandem seat for inspection
- Vehicles subject to exhaust regulations (model numbers starting with EBL/BC, manufactured 2002 or later) require a regulation-compliant exhaust
- Change applications and other services are accepted only for vehicles under Sodegaura and Funabashi jurisdiction
- Inspection non-compliance issues are ¥2,200 tax included per item.Example: noise level/seating capacity/reflector would be ¥6,600
