Kowa’s “Fork Spring Compressor-2” is great

This tool is really excellent.

The spring compressor I used to use wouldn’t stand up on its own = I had to use it on its side (at an angle) = oil would leak
That was pretty annoying…
This “Fork Spring Compressor-2” actually stands up!
It’s incredibly stable, so work goes very smoothly.
I could honestly make one myself, but “buying it is faster and ultimately more economical.”

I clearly separate what I make from what I don’t .
I weigh “material costs + thinking/ordering/making time” against “product cost” .
Unless I have infinite free time or I absolutely love making things, that’s beside the point.

Usually with the first one, “I wish I’d done it this way” comes up, so I make a second one.
Maybe I have a personality prone to infinite loops?
I don’t overthink store-bought items though…

This compressor is really great, but “short forks need special measures” .
Add shims underneath like in the photo. *Be sure to check the compressor length first.

The fork oil was nice and clean (*´ω｀*)

Honestly, I don’t really like fork oil changes.
The reason is
“if the seal leaks after a fork oil change, it’s painful”

Not that it’s about responsibility or anything, but “having to do the same job all over again is a hassle.”
Of course, parts and labor costs apply as normal.
Basically, the fork oil change cost and time are completely wasted.

Replace the seal at this time—a clever tactic?

Just the seal cost significantly reduces the risk of leaks after work.
When you replace the seal, the responsibility falls on me, so I have to work carefully, you know~

I always think “I’m doing too much extra stuff” sometimes… (;’∀’)

The inner tube was replaced before, so it’s GOOD (*´ω｀*)

I’ll roughly measure the fork spring.

I have a fork spring attachment too, but… it’s not very practical.
The scale is for low rates, but… honestly, if you just want to take a quick look, you can do it normally.

You just have to be careful not to let it fly off.

Smooth and mild? It feels surprisingly good.
