The meter overhaul is complete (*´ω｀*)
The inside is sparkling clean too ☆
I’m grateful for the consistently excellent finish.
I removed the hardened sponge from various spots
and covered them with
some spare sponge I had on hand.
The original meter damper is convex
and the sleeve length is awkward, causing rattling.
I found a lovely
“H-type” damper from the reuse corner that
fits perfectly like Cinderella’s slipper!
It should sit snugly without any vibration.
My plan to swap the bulbs for LEDs (on my own initiative)
has some that won’t light up for some reason.
Some I figured were okay
but others are questionable
so I checked the manual.
Ah, that one…

Back in that era
they wanted to make things a bit more convenient and safer
with various electrical and mechanical devices
installed throughout.
Since they’re no longer used,
there’s no reason they’d light up.
And now it all makes sense (*´ω｀*)
I’m going to label everything including the indicators
with “P-TOUCH.”
Looking back later and going “huh?” is such a hassle.
Checking the manual wiring is also a hassle.
If I do all the labeling at once upfront,
the rest will be easy!
That’s how it should be.
And honestly, the wiring configuration
around the meter area is pretty old-school.
When inserting rubber sockets,
applying silicone grease makes it smooth~
Anything works really,
but I’ma “DuPont fan”
especially just for the name.

I thought so, but then
I suddenly remembered that part that broke off the other day.
The vehicle speed signal wire.
Removing that part
shortens the wire length by just under 30mm.
Sure enough, it’s stretched tight and taut!
Since it’s M11, I’ve ordered
the part from Itoh.
