The engine’s presence is extraordinary? (*´з`)
Honda really built them well. It was truly a great era.
Today we’re installing everyone’s favorite dashcamthe “EDR-21α”(*´ω`*)

If you don’t need route or speed data later, the GPS-less“EDR-21α”is the way to go.
Installation is also a bit easier without the GPS, so that’s nice♪

The “D-UNIT+” is essential to go with it.
Just having this makes the work feel so much easier, and the wiring becomes genuinely simpler.

We remove the old dashcam and its wiring.
Ah, those were the days~
“The era before D-UNIT+”was like this—we’d combine“relays and Honda OEM fuses”
Thinking back a bit, I really feel how greatthe “D-UNIT+”truly is.
These days,I wouldn’t want to work without the “D-UNIT+.”

I’ve learned a thing or two myself (*´з`)
If we confirm the camera position before installation, it’s faster—or rather,we can “go bold”
“go bold” means we might be able to place it in a “non-standard position.”

Dead Shorai batteries are actually quite reusable.
You can’t use them onbikes anymore, but they’re perfect for powering“checks”and“carb sync gauges.”
The best part is that they’re“small and light.”
Keep the smaller sizes around—they’re useful for work.

This spot? Might work?
I thought so, but it blocked the right-side view.
With this kind of electrical component, balancing “looks” and “performance” is really difficult (*’▽’)

A digital borescope is absolutely amazing.
It’s essential for checking space with the bodywork installed.
In the old days,we’d use“mirrors”or“clay”
and other analog methods, but with this you get it done in one shot.
There are lots of digital borescopes out there, but“there are two essential conditions:”
• The camera is thin (if choosing now, around 5–5.5 mm diameter)
• It has dual lenses (straight and 90-degree switchable)
I could go on forever. Consider price and balance when buying.

Through this tank gap, we can reliably determine the “usable space” inside.

I coated the camera and hand-control switch bracket with Guncoat.

Front and rear camera portions

D-UNIT+ and EDR-21α main unit portions

I made the hand-control switch and D-UNIT+ with 110-series connectors.
Next is wiring and layout. When you do dashcam installations back-to-back, the work goes fast (*’▽’)
