| DVDs are classified into 6 regions worldwide, and each region has a regional code assigned to it. DVD players sold in each region classified by this code are designed to play only DVD software that corresponds to that region’s regional code. For example, Japan belongs to region 2. DVD software made in Japan has a signal indicating regional code 2 written to it. On the other hand, DVD players generally sold in Japan are designed to play only software with regional code 2 signals written to them. In other words, you cannot play American software (region 1) on a Japanese DVD player. |
