We’ll gradually take things apart and do a basic check first.
We’re moving forward from the parts that should wrap up easily and reliably (‘ω’)ノ

Well then…
Let’s start from the front! We’ll remove the easy-access parts and clean and check them (‘ω’)ノ

The harness is in pretty good condition!
That old-school headlight relay with the relay mounted on the light side takes up space inside the headlight, so we’ll remove it.
If you want to install one, Daytona makes a good option (‘ω’)ノ
LED bulbs have gotten so good in recent years that we really don’t need relays much anymore (*´ω`*)

Ah, the nostalgic sealed-beam headlight. Basically, the light itself is a bulb.
There are LED lenses out there too, so I wonder if those count as sealed-beam now?
It looks cool, so maybe we should keep it? What do you think?

A common headlight lens issue.
Stripped threads. We have a helicoil in this size, so we’ll install one.

It was already clean, but we gave it a wet blast too (*´ω`*)

We managed to get the tank off with some effort.
It’s pretty dirty. I realized later that this one doesn’t have an O-ring setup.
I wonder if the one from a CBX1000 would work… We’ve hit a snag right off the bat.

The master cylinder is in overall weakened condition.

Let’s check the brake calipers.
The boots and O-rings and such are priced so high it makes you go “Wow!” I really feel every day how much of a luxury item a motorcycle is.

The caliper condition is pretty good (*’▽’)
A wet blast will bring it back to life nicely.

The caliper pistons are in good condition too, so we’ll reuse them.

We did the prep work and cleaning first.

The condition is really quite good…
Well, it’s not a recent acquisition, so that’s to be expected… but it’s still wonderful!
