It feels wasteful somehow, but… the general wisdom with motorcycles is to reduce and then add.

The exterior has been repainted, so it’s extremely clean.
There are no fin cracks. The spark plugs go in smoothly and tighten securely.
The exhaust studs are M8.


The cover area is clean since it was originally polished.
*It’s a bit hazy from storage, but…
The pickup area is not included.

The crankcase is KZT00EE (Z1000ST) shaft type.
There appears to be basic compatibility, and since it’s in good condition and easy to source, the ST is being used.

Inside the head cover.
Since it hasn’t run, it’s in clean condition.
The tachometer takeoff is not included.

The cam sprocket is an APE adjustable type.
It’s nice because later adjustment is easy (‘ω’)ノ



The transmission area is also in premium condition.




The pistons are 70 or 72 mm, I believe.

Swapping it in and passing inspection as-is would be tough, but it’s a great engine for an engine swap during an OH, for circuit use, or sadly as a parts engine.
