I’m a “stock rear fender enthusiast.”
First, this applies to vehicles that are registered, inspected, or reported for use for the first time on or after April 1, 2033.
It looks like 100% of our customers won’t be affected… or will they?
For vehicles registered, inspected, or reported for use by March 31, 2033,
the number must be displayed at an angle that is easy to read while the vehicle is in operation,
the number must not be covered,
it must not fall off,
and a frame or bolt cover that allows the number to be read while the vehicle is in operation may be installed.)
○ License plate display position: Display at an easy-to-see location without causing any problems.
○ Easy-to-read angle for the license plate: Angle (vertical and horizontal)
○ Number not covered; vehicle frame allows the license number to be read
→ If a police officer judges it hard to see, that’s a violation.
○ Rotation → Automatic violation
In short, rotation is not allowed; the angle must be one that a police officer can confirm is easy to read.
If the angle looks suspicious, you should adjust it.
The maximum is ¥500,000, so I don’t think it will go that far, but wouldn’t even ¥50,000—one-tenth of that—be a painful expense?
Whether a license plate angle looks cool or uncool is a tricky matter of aesthetics, isn’t it?
