Let’s disassemble the front fork.
The oil was as black as ink… If I stare intently at the image reflected in the oil, it’s scary, so let’s skip that. (There’s nothing there anyway.)
They brought in the painted bottom case and the inner tube that was re-plated at Toyo Hardening, so we’ll combine them into one.
The operation is smooth, and I think it probably resists leaks well… We’ve been sealing a little Molycote (fluorine grease) into the oil seal lip for a while now.
The more I research PTFE, the more interesting it becomes… Be careful though, as it’s expensive and not suitable for all applications!

This is an anti-nose canceller made by Speed Shop Itou.
I’m pretty sure I looked into the anti-nose on GPZ and GSX1100 series a while back… and then I thought, what about the GSX-R? So I looked it up…
Hey, it’s the same pitch! So it works—that’s how it went. In the end, they’re all KYB anyway. I wonder if RGB and such are the same too…
We’ll cut out that crummy electronic anti-nose and end up with a normal fork.
In the future, it would be fun to replace the spring too.
If you vacuum-bleed the fork oil at the end, you’ll subtly see air coming out.
If you bleed it thoroughly, the finish is reassuring.
Since it was deteriorated, I gave it a wet-to-guncoat.
For some reason the fender is super close, so I made a spacer to raise it.
From here on, I had a bad feeling…
No matter how I look at it, the fender mounting seems off…
I didn’t investigate, but… is this bottom case okay?
