Since it’s in a quiet residential neighborhood, the owner would like to mellow out the sound a bit.

First, the tail pipe insertion is loose, so we’ll fix that.
Silencer 50.8φ – tail pipe 49.66φ, about 1 mm difference.
It’s got a subtle radius, so I’m wondering whether to go 35 mm or 40 mm…
I’ll expand it to 40 mm.
Having a flaring tool is really convenient.

I cut up an affordable stainless steel pipe
I’ll insert this deep and expand it to about 50 mm length.
So we’ve managed to create a 50.8 to 60.5 adapter.
First, the current silencer. Once we tighten up the insertion, it’s gotten quite a bit quieter…
That’s the impression I get.
If I temporarily put in our inspection inner silencer… it sounds really good…
I’m thinking this silencer might be fine as is.

As expected from a straight-through design, it’s gotten louder ( ；∀；)
And our inspection SPL silencer for the ZX10R (with catalytic converter)
Naturally, it’s quiet.
Let me test what happens if we temporarily put an inner silencer in.
