So here’s our regular customer again. High mileage—200,000 kilometers on the frame.
After being ridden this hard, it’s developed a unique aged character.
You could call it an aged look, or maybe it’s more like the bike evolved as needed over time.
Given the time constraints, I’d like to work on just the tank for now.
Please don’t paint it before modification. Masking is a huge hassle and super risky.
If it’s already painted, there’s nothing we can do about it.
The biggest problem is fitting painted bodywork like fairings, so please be aware.
In fact, I won’t take on that kind of job.
Oh! There’s a moment—the filter was barely still stuck to the tank side.
Good thing!
Whether it’s useful or not…
The Pingel petcock’s eternal problem—the hole gets enlarged.
It gets dusty, and stuff definitely gets inside. I finally graduated from using those a while back.
I could probably improve the convenience more, but since I don’t use it that often, I’ll stick with the current setup.
I install it like this.
Just to be safe, I use a plate so it doesn’t warp.
The image is already open. Setting it up is tedious, but when it’s time for “one decisive shot,” it’s really good.
