When you take a break from blogging,
doesn’t your motivation just fade away? Why is that, I wonder?
Well, I suppose I should think of it as part of the job and a work report I have to do.
But whenever I try to do something, things just don’t go right.
Well, it’s summer now.
We replaced everything that could be replaced so you can ride hands-off for a good while.
This is the old one. The blind cover is positioned just right.
If we cut the new one, it hits the undertube—that’s how it goes.
The positioning between the undertube and muffler is so tight that there’s really only one place to fit it.
The new water pump arrived, so we’re good for a while now.
The undertube was really hard to fit.
Well, even with OEM frames from other models, gaps don’t always line up perfectly.
We chamfered the bolt tips and managed to clear it.
We attached the LED module with titanium plate and dual-lock tape.
The owner wanted the handlebar a bit shorter since it’s hard to fit in the garage.
We cut 10 mm from each side.
3M Safety-Walk Slip-Resistant Tape Type F Clear 50 mm width × 5 m
This is the thinnest anti-slip tape out there.
I hate applying and removing adhesive for grip rotation stops.
I hate wire rings too.
Since I’m lazy, I thought of using tape for rotation stops that you can reuse multiple times. It seems to work pretty well at preventing rotation.
Of course, I can’t recommend it for thin grips.
KING JIM Label Writer Trimmer RT36W
This is a handy trimmer for when you want to add rounded corners to sticker edges.
Having one is a subtly useful tool.
We apply half the tape width to the top and use it that way.
We replaced the brake fluid with CCI Golden Cruiser DOT4.
I forgot to take a photo of the rear replacement.
We adjusted the synchronization and PS.
We also disassembled the lever and greased it.
Since the pedal has sealed bearings, we applied oil from the outside.
Cleaning the key occasionally feels nice.
We also cleaned and oiled the side stand.
KTC Coolant Charger AE401
It’s pricey, but if you do repairs and maintenance, it’s one of those tools you want to have.
Filling coolant is really fast.
Another nice thing is that it applies negative pressure first, then switches to positive pressure for filling.
If the gauge doesn’t show negative pressure at that point, it could indicate a leak somewhere.
We filled the oil with ELF MOTO4RACE 10W-60 (183.7–24.9).
That completes the work for this time.
