The intake manifold on GSX-R series bikes gets tricky to remove when it’s a “+3 number” older model, doesn’t it?
I’ve done this so many times that I don’t get stuck easily.
*For example, with the same condition of intake manifold bolts seized on the vehicle
·being experienced and removing it smoothly versus
·getting stuck and taking hours to remove it
—I wonder if the labor charge is the same? The stuck one should cost more… definitely.
One bolt wouldn’t come out, so I went at it with a chisel and hammer.

The trick is not to try loosening it right away
·drive it in hard once to create a groove
·then hit powerfully in the loosening direction around the outer edge of that groove, “Bang! Bang!”
If you do it too gently, it might not come out.
It had corroded quite nicely. Corrosion is amazing!

The O-ring is completely flat. It might have been good timing.

These days individuals can sell on Yahoo Auctions and similar platforms, so if you don’t need it, you can always sell it off.
It’s good to replace bolts like the intake manifold fasteners and head cover oil line bolts during disassembly.
Stocking a variety of bolts and nuts is surprisingly important for a shop that does repairs and maintenance.
The plates were painted with Gun Coat (flat black).
Flat black really is… the strongest (safest) choice.
This O-ring isn’t listed in the parts list for some models.
For BST carburetors, it’s an O-ring worth replacing.
